Director of Engineering

Job Description:

Skyline Attractions, LLC is seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Engineering to lead our efforts in the development of safe, reliable cutting-edge amusement rides. This is a leadership role which will report directly to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering role, though exceptional candidates with 10 years of experience will be considered.   • Lead all engineering aspects of our amusement ride developments from concept to completion, ensuring a safe and reliable product is delivered to our customers on time and on budget.
  • Work with the Board to develop budgets and schedules for executing design projects, as well as provide strategic input to help the board decide on budgets, strategies, and performance targets for potential new projects quarterly.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies and processes to drive safety, innovation, and efficiency.
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations for design improvements with our engineering team and with our clients or our clients’ designated third party reviewers.
  • Develop a comprehensive process for new product development, and direct the team through all phases from creation to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of structural, mechanical, and design engineers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with our vendors and subcontractors to streamline production methods, and ensure their compliance with all record-keeping requirements.
  • Collaborate with existing and new customers to achieve on-time performance targets and resolve any complaints or challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred. Amusement industry experience is helpful, but not necessary.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering role, or 10 years for exceptional candidates.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, while holding them accountable for their work.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and methodologies. A working knowledge of structures, weldments, mechanical assemblies, and control systems is a plus.
  • Experience in conducting FMEA analyses and writing FAT / SAT documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, change tasks on short notice and travel to job sites when needed during SAT, commissioning or warranty situations.


Flexible. We have locations in Orlando and Cincinnati, but the position can be remote. We anticipate travel to our facilities or to job / installation sites as needed and will be required periodically.
