Muskegon, Michigan, USA – Skyline Attractions is excited to share its involvement in the installation of approximately 200 feet [61 meters] of Titan Track on the Wolverine Wildcat roller coaster at Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Michigan, USA. Wolverine Wildcat is the latest wooden roller coaster to receive this innovative, weld-free track, which Skyline Attractions designed and engineered for Great Coasters International, Inc.
Titan Track is a unique roller coaster track that consists of custom-built steel composite sections that are mechanically fastened without the need for continuous welds or cold-forming techniques. This method reduces maintenance, expedites the installation process, and offers an incredibly smooth and quiet ride experience.
Wolverine Wildcat originally opened at Michigan’s Adventure in 1988 and was manufactured by the defunct Dinn Corporation. The attraction has remained a favorite among park guests over thirty years later, and the installation of Titan Track to the ride will help it continue to entertain thrill seekers for generations to come.
The Titan Track added to Wolverine Wildcat is comprised of six sections that span from the top of the first drop toward the top of the ride’s second hill. Each section includes custom flat patterns that were generated with proprietary software developed by the Skyline Attractions team, expediting their design and fabrication. This area of the ride was chosen in part because of its high intensity and the stresses experienced by the track.
In addition to installing Titan Track in high-stress areas of existing wooden roller coasters, Titan Track can also be used to revolutionize existing rides with new elements, including inversions and airtime hills. Titan Track can be used with an existing rolling stock or new trains from Great Coasters International, including the Millennium Flyer and Infinity Flyer train designs. Titan Track is also available for ground-up installations.
Alongside Skyline Attractions’ work on Wolverine Wildcat, the company has previously worked with Great Coasters International at Michigan’s Adventure on Shivering Timbers. For the 2017 season, Skyline Attractions provided its design services to Great Coasters International when an aging section of trick-track on Shivering Timbers was replaced with a thrilling new airtime hill.
The Titan Track installed on Wolverine Wildcat is the second installation of the new track in 2022. Approximately 250 feet [76 meters] was also installed on Predator at Six Flags Darien Lake.
Skyline Attractions has also worked alongside Great Coasters International on many other recent projects, including the design and engineering of Texas Stingray at SeaWorld San Antonio, Roaring Timbers at Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, and the development of the Infinity Flyer train design.
